Since 1918, Mothers of America's fallen heroes have served with quiet distinction in Military hospitals, VA hospitals, support groups and countless other endeavors to serve veterans, their families, and our communities. No other group of individuals has served so much and sacrificed as much as these special women.

FAQ's & GSM National Monument Pin

  • How was the national monument chosen?

    Andrew L. Chernak was asked to design a statue of a GSM to depict the elements of grief and loss. The original prototype design was approved by the residing, (2002-2003), AGSM President, Dorothy Oxendine. (The prototype statue is placed in Carmel, New York by the Putnam County Joint Veterans Council, NY.)
  • How many years will it take before the monument is dedicated?

    Seven years is the maximum allowed time to raise the necessary funds for the project.
  • Where will the monument be placed?

    The Gold Star Mother Monument will be placed in a visible part of our Nations Capital.
  • What is the $$$dollar amount needed to fund the Monument project?

    At least one million dollars! It’s hard to say exactly, because we don’t know the scale of the finished Monument. The final cost hinges on the size of land and location of the Monument. This may not be of our choosing!
  • Are there information and a picture on a website?

    YES!! Please go to: www.gsmmonument.org.
  • Who can sell the national pin?

    ANYONE willing to help honor the sacrifice and service of the GSM.
  • Can anyone wear the pin to show their support?

    Yes! PLEASE wear the pin to show your support!
  • Will I receive a receipt for my donation?

    Yes…….if requested!

This Veteran designed pin is a replica of the Gold Star Mother (GSM), National Monument ,which one day will be erected and dedicated to stand in Washington D.C., honoring all mothers from all wars for the sacrifice of their beloved child while serving our great nation. PLEASE consider being a part of history for this upcoming event with your donations or purchase of the pin.

Suggestions for people, organizations, and events where the pin may be sold.

  • Veterans of ANY war are more than generous with their support.
  • Motorcycle organizations and clubs that are Military oriented, i.e.…Rolling Thunder, Warrior Watch Riders, Buffalo Soldiers, Legion Riders, patriot Guard, NamKnights, Yellow Ribbon Club, Combat Vets M.C.
  • Sell the Pins at Military Events: Memorial Day Weekend, Veterans Day, ANY National holiday, Freedom Rides, Poker Runs by Motorcycle Clubs. AGSM National Convention and other Department and Chapter Meetings.
  • The National Pin Captain will contact Gold Star Moms in other states and encourage them to help out with the fund raising by soliciting persons and organizations to support our cause.
